
Floral displays, workshops and community events in support of cathedral restoration
The cathedral bursts into colour and creativity this August as the Sustainable Flower Festival returns.
Celebrating the theme “Nature and Heritage” from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August, the festival offers a weekend of floral artistry, expert demonstrations, workshops, and garden-inspired activities – all in support of the Cathedral Restoration Fund.
Festival visitors can enjoy spectacular flower displays inside the historic cathedral:
Friday 2.00pm – 5.00pm
Saturday and Sunday 10.00am – 5.00pm
Admission is €10, with proceeds supporting the ongoing conservation of this cherished Church of Ireland landmark.

‘The Challenge of Change’ Demonstration

Floral designers James Burnside and Alan Beatty lead a dynamic evening demonstration exploring the theme “The Challenge of Change”.
Doors open at 7.30pm

Summer Floral Workshop with Vivienne Brophy
Saturday 23 August – 10.00am to 12.30pm
The Red Hall, East Main Street, Lismore, P51 TK90
Join award-winning florist Vivienne Brophy for a hands-on workshop focused on creating summer vases and posies using the spiral method. All flowers, foliage and refreshments provided. Bring a favourite vase if you wish.

Throughout the weekend, visitors can also explore local gardens, browse the plant stall, and enjoy refreshments. This inspiring celebration blends floral design with environmental awareness, all set within the historic surroundings of Lismore.
